The likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Paul Pogba and Virgil van Dijk also make the 55-man shortlist

Mohamed Salah leads a strong Premier League contingent in the FIFPro World XI shortlist.

As many as 55 footballers have been nominated by 25,000 players across the world, with the final XI being named at the Best FIFA Football Awards later this month.

Salah enjoyed an incredible debut season at Anfield and makes the cut alongside 15 other Premier League players.

He is joined by Liverpool teammates Sadio Mane, Virgil van Dijk and Dejan Lovren.

England stars Harry Kane, Kyle Walker and Kyle Walker make the cut after fine World Cups, as do Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante.

They are joined by Manchester City title winners Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva among others.

The usual suspects again make the shortlist, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos and Luka Modric.

Tottenham and Belgium duo Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen do not make the cut.

Daniel Alves and Sergio Ramos are on the list for the 12th consecutive time, equalling the record with Philipp Lahm.
