The Italian giants had hoped to sign Steven N’Zonzi during the summer but have been so far unsuccessful
Roma are reportedly lining up a shock move for Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama.
The Italian giants had hoped to sign Steven N’Zonzi during the summer but have been so far unsuccessful.
And Wanyama has now emerged as an alternative, according to Italian newspaper La Repubblica.
N’Zonzi is seemingly more keen on a move back to the Premier League than a switch to Serie A with Arsenal and Everton both linked with a swoop for his services before Thursday’s transfer deadline.
Wanyama joined Spurs from Southampton in 2016 and made 24 appearances in all competitions under Mauricio Pochettino last term.
The Kenyan is currently sidelined with a knee problem and missed four months of last season in the treatment room.
Roma have money to spend after the sales of Alisson to Liverpool and Radja Nainggolan to Inter Milan.
Wanyama still has three years on his contract in north London and Tottenham are yet to make a signing in the summer window.
Mousa Dembele also has an uncertain future at Spurs but it is unlikely both players would be sold.
