ARSENAL FANS SPLIT ON MIKEL ARTETA AS EX-GUNNERS MIDFIELDER EDGES CLOSER TO REPLACING ARSENE WENGER AS NEW BOSS

ARSENAL FANS SPLIT ON MIKEL ARTETA AS EX-GUNNERS MIDFIELDER EDGES CLOSER TO REPLACING ARSENE WENGER AS NEW BOSS

The Spaniard’s name continues to get louder in the Gunners’ corridors of power, but fans don’t seem completely set on him

Can Arsenal do better than Mikel Arteta? The former Gunners midfielder is being strongly linked with the now vacant Emirates Stadium hotseat (that sounds odd, doesn’t it), especially now Juventus boss Max Allegri seems to have ruled himself out of the job .

But fans seem to split on whether or not the 36-year-old has got what it takes to replace Arsene Wenger.

Arteta had five seasons in north London after joining from Everton in 2011, learning under Wenger’s guidance for much of that, including the final two campaigns in which he barely featured due to injury. Since 2016 he’s worked under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, taking up a role as his assistant coach as City have romped to the league title with 100 points this season.

So, is that enough?

His age and lack of managerial experience seem to be a sticking point for many fans, but with the Gunners seemingly set on appointing a younger coach then he could be the man they turn to.

But how will that go down with the fans? Including some famous ones?

They don’t seem sure.

Arteta???

Arsenal should be seeking a new manager of the calibre of Pep Guardiola, or as near to him as we can get.
Not Pep’s assistant who’s never managed before & could barely get a game when he was our club captain. #afc

Appointing Arteta will divide the fanbase even more. No, it’s you that want to divide, you lot wanted Wenger out, you said anyone would do the job, it’s you who are toxic so don’t try to put the blame on the club. We don’t need you. If you won’t support Arteta go support Spurs.

It’s impossible to predict how Arteta will fare as a manager. However, if people in the game like Wenger & Guardiola, as well as ex-players like Pires & Wright speak positively about him, we shouldn’t worry. He’s not my ideal, but I will definitely back him. Give him a chance.

if it’s Arteta. we all have to get behind him..end of

Arteta certainly dividing fans already! I thought we had seen the back of the divide. Maybe it wasn’t Arsene after all….😉

You might as well give it to Cazorla for all I care if you think Arteta is good enough for the job.

If we do appoint Arteta we have to get behind him, if things do not work out we should not take it out on him, it will be the board’s fault and one man, in particular, that’s who the anger and blame should be directed to

All this Arteta talk is driving me crazy! He was a bang average player that hasn’t managed a single professional side in his life.

If he gets the job it really shows how weak and pathetic Gazidis and Kroenke are.
We need a strong manager with a proven winning mentality!

Which way will this one go?
