The Spaniard’s name continues to get louder in the Gunners’ corridors of power, but fans don’t seem completely set on him
But fans seem to split on whether or not the 36-year-old has got what it takes to replace Arsene Wenger.
Arteta had five seasons in north London after joining from Everton in 2011, learning under Wenger’s guidance for much of that, including the final two campaigns in which he barely featured due to injury. Since 2016 he’s worked under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, taking up a role as his assistant coach as City have romped to the league title with 100 points this season.
So, is that enough?
His age and lack of managerial experience seem to be a sticking point for many fans, but with the Gunners seemingly set on appointing a younger coach then he could be the man they turn to.
But how will that go down with the fans? Including some famous ones?
They don’t seem sure.
Arsenal should be seeking a new manager of the calibre of Pep Guardiola, or as near to him as we can get.
Not Pep’s assistant who’s never managed before & could barely get a game when he was our club captain. #afc

If he gets the job it really shows how weak and pathetic Gazidis and Kroenke are.
We need a strong manager with a proven winning mentality!

Which way will this one go?
